Understanding The Portable Building Delivery Process

Are you eager to learn more about how our delivery process unfolds, from the moment the truck pulls up to your property to the final positioning of your shed or cabin shell? Dive into this detailed guide to gain a deeper understanding of every step involved.

  1. Trailer Transport: All our buildings that are delivered fully built will come on a trailer pulled by a semi-truck or a big pickup truck. This mode of transportation ensures that your fully built shed or cabin shell arrives intact and ready for installation. Most times a oversize load road permit is required so it will sometimes require a different route than a normal car would take.

  2. Precision Maneuvering: As the trailer rolls onto your property, our delivery crew springs into action. Using dolly wheels and a nimble "mule" forklift, they guide the building off the trailer and begin the intricate dance of maneuvering it into its designated spot. But before they can work their magic, there's one crucial consideration: clearance. From street access to driveway width, every pathway must provide ample space for the building to pass through unobstructed.

  3. Space Requirements: Here's where the 2-foot rule comes into play. We recommend allowing for at least 2 feet of extra clearance beyond the building's width to ensure a smooth delivery process. Whether it's squeezing between trees or navigating a narrow gate, our delivery team relies on these generous allowances to avoid any last-minute surprises.

  4. Leveling and Blocking: With the building now nestled in its chosen location, it's time to ensure stability and structural integrity. Our team expertly blocks up the building and levels it, taking into account the nuances of the terrain. Things to have in mind...even if the spot is perfectly level your shed or cabin floor will be 1' 4" off the ground MINIMUM. Now, if your ground is not perfectly level this might increase. We will start leveling from the high side of the ground and level from there. Having said this...it usually doesn't matter that much unless you have the door on the low ground side...this would make the door be high off the ground and you will most likely need steps or a ramp for easy access.

  5. Communication is Key: It is always a good idea to send your sales rep a picture of the spot where the building is going to seat to avoid any of these problems. We won't dig the ground and level your spot, we will just level the shed and both of us don't want to bring back the shed because the expectations were not met or delivery was not possible. Make sure both you and the sales rep are aware of everything and understand the process and what it takes.
  6. Tools of the Trade: Behind every successful delivery is a well-equipped team armed with the required tools and equipment. From the versatile "mule" forklift to hydraulic trailers capable of navigating tight spaces, our arsenal is second to none. But don't let the machinery fool you – our delivery experts rely on skill and precision to execute each maneuver flawlessly.

  7. Tailored Solutions: While our standard delivery process caters to most situations, we understand that every property poses its unique challenges. That's why we offer on-site assembly as an alternative option. By constructing the shed or cabin shell directly on-site, we eliminate the need for transportation and ensure a seamless fit with your property's layout.

  8. Customer Satisfaction: At the heart of our delivery process lies a commitment to customer satisfaction. We're not just delivering buildings – we're delivering peace of mind. If you have any questions or concerns along the way, our dedicated sales representatives are always ready to lend a listening ear and provide expert guidance.

In conclusion, our delivery process is a carefully choreographed dance between precision and efficiency. From the moment the truck rolls onto your property to the final adjustment of the building, rest assured that your shed or cabin shell is in capable hands. So sit back, relax, and watch as your vision comes to life before your eyes.
